Writer-Producer
Mbaji has written songs used by Donald Byrd, Erykha Badu, The
SOS Band, Eddie Kendricks, Wycleef John and a few other well
known Artist. He is best remembered for co-writing hits "Fallin Like
Dominoes and "Think Twice for Jazz giant Donald Byrd. In a
Compliation CD entilted "Retrospect" he caputures some flavors
from Neo Soul and Old School R&B, mixed in with a helping of
Jazzy Grooves and a dab of Hip Hop. This was done with the help
of many featured Musicians and Vocalist who became part of this
compilation. Many of these Artists have their own projects so
please support them as well.
With this project I wanted to get back to some elements of grooves
and love songs I remember listening to back in the day. My cousin
Sigidi and friends Harold, Rhongea Southern, Tommy Austin and
myself would always meet in the Backhouse, writing songs. This
was the original Backhouse Nation more will come and go but we
all are committed to making music we hope people will enjoy.
